Waves lapping gently
The vastness of the ocean
The depth of the sand
And who am I? And why?
To what end?

The fear and loneliness
Welling inside me
Like a wave forming in the distance
The tide coming in
This pain threatens to swallow me

I am alone
There is no one near
Nothing but pain and sadness
The sand shifting beneath my feet
The biting cold of the ocean waves

I am lost
No one to hear my cries
No one to calm this fear
No escape from my loneliness
