I wonder what the perception of love was in the days before television. I wonder how much more fully people understood what it is to love and be loved. I wonder how we have gotten so far off track.
When we read scripture and reflect on love, what love really is, what is intended to be; not just Christ love but love through us to others. What we call love today, does not begin to reach up to Biblical standards.
Somehow we have received the message that we are to seek our fulfillment from the love of someone else instead of finding the stability of Love In Christ. When the relationship with the Lord is stable his loving qualities flow through. Fruits of the spirit flow through us.
1 Corinthians 13: 11-12 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
God is love. When I rest in his love I can fully love those around me.
